James L. Cook serves as CEO of National Financial Services Group, a comprehensive financial services firm. Under his leadership, which began in 2000, Jim has successfully developed the firm into one of the premier financial services companies in the Southeast. The Atlanta based firm has grown from 16 to over 125 financial services professionals with offices in Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

National Financial Services Group has a long history, tracing its roots back to 1896 through its association with National Life Insurance Company. Over the years the firm’s name has changed while its solid reputation for excellence in service and long-term client relationships has endured. Jim’s steadfast commitment to on-going training and education builds the intellectual capital of the firm and enables the firm’s financial professionals to stand out among their peers in the industry.

The firm has been the recipient of numerous GAMA International Awards, which recognize exceptional agencies and firm leaders around the world. Award qualifiers are among the elite in the financial services industry. From 2005-2009, NFSG has received the Master Agency Top 250 Award, the First in Class Award and the International Management Diamond Award for total production. The firm has also been the recipient of The Leadership Team Award designed to recognize those agency, firm or organization leaders who demonstrate their commitment to professional development. In March of 2009, Jim was featured in the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s "Who’s Who in Finance". This list featured 100 leaders of Atlanta’s premier financial institutions*.

A 1981 graduate of Western Illinois University, Jim earned his Certified Fund Specialist® designation in 1995 and became a Chartered Financial Consultant® in 1997. For the past three years, he has been a board member for the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), Atlanta and currently serves as President-Elect of this organization. Jim has traveled to Washington D.C., along with NAIFA leaders from across the country, to discuss important industry issues with members of Congress.

Jim and his wife, Belynda, have three daughters and make their home in Cumming, GA. They are members of Johns Creek United Methodist Church. During his occasional free time, Jim can be found enjoying his two favorite hobbies - golf and cheering on the Atlanta Braves.
